ABOUT JIA VIN
JIA VIN’s journey into law began with a love for problem-solving – the kind that combines logic, language and practical thinking. That curiosity led her through moot courts, internships and pupillage, each step strengthens her passion for turning complex legal issues into actionable solutions.
Now in her second year of practice, she has appeared in matters before all tiers of court, from the Subordinate Courts up to the Federal Court. She works across civil and commercial litigation, corporate advisory, intellectual property, employment litigation and conveyancing.
Whether drafting pleadings, shaping case strategy or guiding clients through legal processes, she brings a proactive and detail-oriented approach, delivering work of quality and practicality. She believes lawyering is equal parts strategy, skill and people skills.
Outside of her legal pursuits, Jia Vin enjoys yoga, hiking, pickleball and ultimate frisbee. She believes staying active contributes significantly to her well-being and helps her maintain a balanced lifestyle. She is fluent in English, Mandarin, Malay and – coming from Penang – Hokkien too.

Banking Law (Bankruptcy)
Acted for an individual facing bankruptcy after a judgment in default was entered against him based on a disputed tax assessment. Managed multiple applications concurrently, including setting aside the judgment, setting aside the bankruptcy notice, stay of proceedings and appeal to Special Commissioners of Income Tax (Form Q). The matter concluded with a negotiated settlement leading to the withdrawal of the bankruptcy suit, and the Form Q was allowed with zero tax payable. Also assisted in lifting the travel restriction and removing the bankruptcy-related CTOS record, restoring the individual’s liberty.
